Making a Roblox game on mobile: what is possible, and what is not
Let's say it upfront: Roblox Studio does not exist on phones, and Builblox builds inside Roblox Studio. To place a game, you need a Windows or Mac computer. But a good part of the creative work does not happen in the editor, and that part you can do from your phone. Here is the honest split.
What a phone cannot do
Roblox Studio runs on Windows and Mac only. The Builblox plugin lives inside Studio, and it is what places the scripts, parts and GUI in your place. No Studio, no build. There is no Builblox mobile app, and we are not promising one.
Roblox Build, the official mobile tool
Roblox Build is the tool Roblox launched in 2026, mobile-first and region by region. If you want to create from a phone with no computer, that is the official route. Builblox works inside Roblox Studio on desktop, from an empty or existing place, and leaves every object and script in the open for you to edit. The two do not exclude each other: an idea started on one side can continue on the other inside Studio.
What you can do from your phone
The Builblox site runs in the browser, so on mobile too. Everything before and around the build happens there.
- Prepare the idea and write the brief: loop, systems, progression, monetisation, ready to paste on the computer.
- Read the genre guides and note the expected systems.
- Follow TrackBlox to see which games are rising and why.
- Generate your game's thumbnail in the thumbnail studio.
- Create your account, join our socials for the free credits, pick your plan.
Then the build, on a computer
When you have a computer at hand, even borrowed for an hour: install Roblox Studio, the Builblox plugin from the Creator Store, paste the brief prepared on your phone, approve the plan, and the game lands in your place. You test with Play, you publish from Studio. Later adjustments are asked in the same chat, at the next computer session.

Can I play my game on mobile?
Yes. A game published from Studio plays on phone, tablet, computer and console, depending on the platforms you enable in its settings. Test it with a finger: the GUI must stay readable on a small screen.
Does Builblox work on a Chromebook?
The site, yes, in the browser. But Roblox Studio is not available on Chromebook, so the build needs a Windows or Mac machine.
